Example of Egocentrism: Choosing a Toy
An example of egocentrism in the preoperational stage occurs when a child cannot infer another person's perspective and instead attributes their own preferences to them. For instance, a child might choose an action figure as a birthday present for their sister simply because they themselves like the toy, incorrectly assuming that their sister will share the same preference.
