Intelligence can be measured through different ways:
- Intelligence Quotient (IQ)
- Standardization
- Norming

Measures of Intelligence

Which of the following statements accurately describe measures of intelligence?

Which of the following best describes the process of norming in intelligence testing?

Which of the following statements is true about Intelligence Quotient (IQ) tests?

An Intelligence Quotient (IQ) is a score obtained from standardized tests designed to assess human intelligence, and it has been synonymous with intelligence for over a century. Although specific tests have evolved, the core method for interpreting scores has remained consistent, with the system standardized to have a population average of 100.

Intelligence Quotient (IQ)

Standardization is the process of ensuring consistency in the administration, scoring, and interpretation of a test's results. This uniformity is crucial for allowing fair and reliable comparisons to be made across all individuals who take the test.

Standardization

Norming involves establishing reference scores, or norms, for an assessment by administering the test to a large, representative population. This process collects data on performance across different groups, such as age brackets, which serve as a baseline for interpreting future scores and demonstrating what a specific group actually knows rather than a prescribed expectation.

Norming

In the context of intelligence testing, the bell curve serves as a visual model to represent the distribution of test scores across a population. This model highlights the range of scores considered average and illustrates the concept of standard deviations from that average.
